Position Summary

This is a POOL position. Application materials for this limited duration assignment is based on semester-by-semester needs due to increasing demand within this subject area.

Shift:
  • Ten (10) or less hours per week.
  • Designed to fit around classroom schedule; may include evenings.
Job Summary:
Mac Computer Lab Aide is responsible for providing student and faculty assistance related to the Mac lab (computers and printers) within the Art and Graphic Design programs at MCC -Penn Valley.

Essential Functions:
Include but not limited to the following:
  • Maintaining a clean (food/drink-free) quiet work area for students
  • Monitoring and cleaning computer storage space
  • Aide students with computer or software related issues
  • Assist students with assignments during scheduled lab or class hours.
  • Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting to the following:
    • Mac computer (e.g. course specific software updates, observing for malicious software attacks: spyware, malware, and other programs not standard in the labs)
    • Printer (e.g. changing toner, adding paper, and ensuring proper function)
    • Escalating hardware and software issues needing IT attention to the supervisor
Minimal Qualifications

Education:
  • High School Diploma/ GED
Experience:
  • Knowledge of Mac computer systems, printers, and Adobe CC software
  • Knowledge of how to operate, maintain, and care for printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment used for instruction/learning within the labs.
  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, trouble-shooting, organizational skills.
  • Must be able to lift reams of paper (15 pounds) and reach printers to install paper and toner
