Job Description

The Associate Consultant for Organizational Excellence Consulting will play a critical supporting role in advancing Virginia Tech’s mission and bold vision with a number of transformational initiatives already underway. The primary role of the Associate Consultant is to work closely with Senior and Managing Consultants to effectively deliver strategic results for clients.

Associate Consultants are the front lines of project management, research, analysis and presentation. The Associate Consultant supports consultants within the Organizational Excellence Consulting practice and assumes accountability for the delivery of high quality and timely consulting services to the client. They will assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies and execution plans as needed for each client project. The Associate Consultant drafts client materials and deliverables, along with project management tools, under the direction of the lead consultant on each project.

Essential Functions:
Primary responsibility for drafting project materials as needed for each client. This would include templates, schedules, reports and other materials.
Drafts and updates project management tools; timelines, Gantt charts, agendas, and other materials.
Participates in the collection and analysis of data.
Participates in the facilitation of project teams.
Assists with the creation of client-ready deliverables.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, psychology, systems engineering or related field.
Experience actively supporting a project to completion.
Demonstrated problem-solving in ambiguous situations.
Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner; both written and oral.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading a project with successful completion.
