Responsible for the administration of computer systems.
The System Services Tech II position works on our Identity and
Enterprise team within the Infrastructure Department, a Unit of the
Information Technology Division. The position will assist with the
management of public and private cloud technologies such as the
Office 365 Software as a Services (SaaS) and Azure Infrastructure
Services. In addition, the position will be responsible for helping
to automate account and service processes in a hybrid cloud
environment using Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, and other
University SaaS platforms.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
Install, test, maintain, and monitor -
Install, test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and
Troubleshoot malfunctions - 20%
Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions to restore normal
Confer with clients - 20%
Confer with clients regarding the nature or information processing
and computational needs.
Coordinate and link - 20%
Coordinate and link computer systems to increase compatibility and
so information can be shared.
Develop and implement plans - 20%
Analyze needs and plans, designs, and implements computer system to
meet those needs.
Support identity/access systems such as
Active Directory, Office 365, and Windows Server Operating
Create and maintain PowerShell scripts used
for system and service management with both Active Directory, Azure
Infrastructure Services, and the Office 365 platform.
Familiarity with cloud-based systems and
Troubleshoot issues with both public and
private cloud systems.
Troubleshoot Windows environments with both
server and desktop operating systems.
Assist with the monitoring of identity and
Assist with compliance, inventory, and
Assist with knowledge sharing, documentation,
and training with identity management services.
Assist with project planning on various
Information Technology projects.
- Provide customer service to aide faculty, staff, and
Associate's degree and three (3) years of related work
Conditions of Employment

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training
course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace,
