GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The receptionist serves as a primary point of communication at the
front desk of the Adult Education Center in Hyannis. The
receptionist will assist in the effective operation of the front
desk in a busy academic environment by answering the phone and
directing calls to the appropriate offices, greeting students,
staff, and the public and directing them to their destination.
Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to
copying, preparing mailings, folders, test materials, etc., and
assisting students with applications for enrollment.
High school diploma.
Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as an
office receptionist or in customer service.
Familiarity with security procedures in an academic
One year of experience with frequent use of basic computer
skills using Microsoft Office with a high degree of accuracy.
Experience with database management with a high degree of

High level of organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Enthusiasm for working effectively in a global, multicultural
academic setting, with a diverse population of students,
administrators, and faculty as well as the general public and local

an ability to prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
Bilingual skills (reading, writing, listening & speaking)
in Portuguese and English.
Occasional nights and weekends may be required.
Flexibility to occasionally alter schedule when other
receptionists are sick or on vacation.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

COMPENSATION : $15.45 per hour, 10-15 hours per week
