The Teaching and Learning Center at Rider University seeks a Teaching and Learning Technologist to provide support to faculty and instructional staff with the learning management system (Canvas) and other instructional technology. This role is responsible for receiving, resolving and document support requests in ServiceNow, as well as supporting instructional design and maintenance work to ensure our students have outstanding learning experiences. This role will deliver professional development for instruction, as well as support hybrid/remote instruction technology. The Teaching and Learning Technologist will work with the Director to provide support for student success as it relates to the support of faculty, and instructional staff to enhance teaching and learning through the effective utilization of technology and innovative teaching methods throughout Rider.
The Teaching and Learning Technologist will also:
• support the design, development, and enhancement of instructional activities, programs, and curricula. Utilize effective educational methodologies and technologies to meet organizational and learner needs;
• assist with the design and development of engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online;
• complete initial edits, reviews, and updates of existing instructional and training materials;
• contribute to researching, designing, and/or acquiring learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning;
• assist with providing basic training and technical support to learners in settings such as classrooms, and distance learning mediums;
• provide consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms;
• analyze, test, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and provide feedback regarding learning technologies;
• provide support for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and disseminating data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness;
• design and development of multimedia learning materials; and
• provide support for faculty development and engagement programs and activities.

Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of experience in a customer service environment
- Excellent attention to detail, persistence, and problem-solving skills
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required
- Master’s Degree in related field
- 2 or more years instructional design and or technology experience in a higher education setting
- 2 or more years of instructional support experience in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of instructional design theory, evidence-based inclusive practices, and university design
