Assistant or Associate Professor D. Wyatt Henderson Department of Accounting

The AACSB accredited E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the D. Wyatt Henderson Accounting Department at the Assistant/Associate Professor level beginning August 2024. All areas of teaching will be considered for the position. To be considered, candidates will have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in accounting from an AACSB accredited institution. A.B.D. candidates with a clear plan for degree completion by December 2024 are encouraged to apply. A candidate with a completed Ph.D./D.B.A. must have a recent and consistent record of publication in quality refereed journals. Preferred certifications include, but are not limited to, CPA, CFE, or CMA .

The teaching load is three courses per academic semester, and may include face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online deliveries. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to engage in research and scholarship resulting in quality publications. All areas of research will be considered for the position. The position also requires service activities, including undergraduate student advising, contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes, and other service to the college, university, community and profession. It is expected the individual chosen for this position will possess a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated ability or capacity to produce quality scholarly academic research, a commitment to involvement in service to the university and the profession, excellent communication skills, and effective teamwork skills.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an AACSB accredited institution in accounting or related degree. Should have experience and expertise qualifying them to teach accounting courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Licensure and/or Certification

Relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must have the abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation. Must be interested in using technology in instruction and must demonstrate evidence of communication skills appropriate to a faculty position.

It is anticipated that courses will be delivered using in-person, hybrid and online learning formats. Courses may be in evenings or on weekends.
