Library Assistant (part-time)

Northwood University is seeking a part-time (10-16 hours a week—subject to change, will be further discussed in interview) Library Assistant to provide support to the library staff by maintaining excellent customer service for students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Library with clerical and organization needs
  • Maintain the periodical and newspaper collection
  • Work as the backup to the Circulation Desk and help the student workers
  • Provide backup to the Technical Processor on an as needed basis
  • Assists students and faculty in the use of library resources
  • Open and close the Library as needed
  • Prepares and maintains statistical data, as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned




Qualifications:



  • Be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Two years of technical library experience or a two year library technician degree. A combination of education and experience that meets the minimum requirements may be substituted
  • Flexibility in scheduling hours; some nights and weekends required
