Teaching Associate – Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations
The Department of Communication, Media, and Culture ( CMC ) at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for a pool of Teaching Associates (part-time adjunct faculty) to teach introductory and undergraduate course offerings for the program beginning in August 2023. While the ad is open to any specialization within the field of study, applicants able to teach in the areas of sports, news, and media industries; the communication discipline; and public relations are of particular interest. To be considered, candidates must have a graduate (masters or doctoral) degree in a relevant subject area. Prior professional experience in the profession and prior teaching experience are preferred.
The CMC program is one of Coastal Carolina University’s largest departments, serving almost 500 majors across its majors and minors in communication, journalism, public relations, sport, and health communication. Students also have opportunities to contribute to student-run media ( WCCU Radio, The Chanticleer newspaper, a television studio), the Teal Nation student-run public relations firm, and media in the University’s athletics programs and local community.
