Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant AD for Leadership Giving, the Development Officer will assist with high-level giving or fundraising efforts of the Tiger Scholarship Fund for the University of Missouri’s Athletics Department.

Day-to-day activities will include:

Developing and implementing a comprehensive major gifts program to support Athletics at the University, including strategies for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects.

Preparing and presenting major gift proposals.

Managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors; developing and maintaining relationships with these individuals to secure gifts in support of Athletics priorities.

Working alongside the Associate Athletic Director to establish a plan with specific goals and timetables to raise major and planned gifts within the scope of special projects, campaigns, endowment or annual fundraising needs.

Conducting prospect research and identification that will lead to the solicitation of individual major gifts.

Maintaining a portfolio of 150 donors and prospects with typical solicitation ranges of $50,000 - $1 million plus.

This position will participate in Athletic events as appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, home and away football games, home and away men's basketball games and other donor engagement events.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a NCAA Development Program handling major gifts.

Anticipated Hiring Range

This opportunity includes a best-in-class compensation package that includes lump sum incentives tied to annual fund renewals and new gifts.

Salary Range: $50,367 - $70,880

Grade: GGS-010
