Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Transfer Credit Coordinator (N95791) at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Job Purpose

Coordinates transfer credit and course articulation operations to support two-year college transfer initiatives, including transfer advising and recruitment. Provide primary operational support, including evaluation, maintenance, validation, and research of college courses for undergraduate students. Serves as the primary contact for academic departments for two-year college transfer guides, evaluations, and other transfer credit resources.

The Coordinator reports to the Transfer Credit Manager and serves a key role that contributes to the university’s success in new transfer student recruitment, transfer admission, advising, and retention. These responsibilities flow through strategic WSU and Educational Outreach priorities, focus on student success, teaching excellence, financial sustainability, and positive enrollment growth.

Essential Functions

Coordinate and update transfer course equivalencies, database(s), and system(s) while identifying opportunities for improvement or potential issues.

Build transfer credit infrastructure within university systems populating course articulations for stakeholders.

Develop and build transfer credit initiatives for specific transfer populations.

Serve as primary point-of-contact for two-year college transfer credit and articulation assistance, needs, and resource.

Assist with evaluating and implementing new transfer policies and systems to ensure university and best practices are being followed.

Utilize data and monitor transfer credit resources, tools, and reports to ensure accuracy and timely updates.

Provide functional supervision to a small number (1-3) of student and part-time support personnel. Assign, monitor, and review work activities. Train appropriate methods and procedures.

Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education (Associate Degree) and experience.

Experience

Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

One or more years of experience in the areas of college admissions, academic policy, data collection, transfer credit, or student software systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ability to understand, explain, and apply complex policies, rules, and guidelines with evidence of making professional judgments.

Attention to details.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

General knowledge or demonstrated usage will be beneficial in the technologies and systems that will apply to this position.

Preferred qualifications:

Two years experience in the areas of college admissions, academic policy, data collection, transfer credit, or student software systems. Experience with college/university systems (i.e. Banner).
