This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Position Purpose
The Academic Success Advisor is responsible for the delivery of programming that facilitates and supports student success. This includes holistic, equitable and proactive strategies/initiatives that focus on helping students learn, understand and navigate university processes, policies and protocols. This position is also responsible for providing a comprehensive career counseling, education and development program focused on helping students make sound, well-informed decisions regarding the selection of a “best fit” academic program and developing associated career goals. This position further provides assistance to help students overcome a wide variety of academic challenges and obstacles, and helps empower students to make well-informed academic decisions. The Success Advisor serves as the focal point of a model designed to cultivate a student-centered environment that is supportive of student success, which is uniquely defined by each individual student, while institutionally defined as high levels of persistence, retention, and timely completion of their chosen academic program.
Education & Formal Training

Other Education & Formal Training
Master’s degree in the following field(s) of study: Required: Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Leadership, Academic Advising, Career Development, Counseling or related human service field.
Computer Skills
Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Other - Banner, Degree Works, E2E: Achieve and/or similar systems
Experience
Two (2) years of experience in customer service and word processing, databases, spreadsheet and presentation required.
Two (2) years of experience in advising, admissions, housing, counseling, career development, life coaching, teaching, personnel administration or other student support services preferred.
Experience working in Higher Education setting using student software programs and applications such as Banner, Degree Works, E2E: Achieve Student Success & Retention CRM, Blackboard LMS, College Scheduler, Focus and/or other similar systems preferred.
Experience with implementation of solutions to facilitate student success, retention, and graduation preferred.
Knowledge of UCM campus, programs, services, and resources preferred
