Medical Director: University Family Medicine (UFM)

Assistant/Associate Professor: The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a Medical Director of our University Family Medicine practice, with a focus on excellence in supervision and provision of medical care.

The physician leader will collaborate with department and campus leadership to enhance primary care and provide clinical oversight of our robust University Family Medicine practice in downtown Baltimore. The Medical Director will create and lead practice innovations and clinical programs while cultivating and fostering professional relationships among our clinicians and healthcare staff. The ideal candidate will be proficient in patient care, management of care delivery by clinical staff; development of policies, procedures and clinical protocols; participation in clinician recruitment; oversight of utilization and risk management activities, and participation in Peer Review. The Medical Director will maintain a panel of patients, supervise trainees, including medical students and residents, and will provide support to clinicians and clinical staff in the practice. Physicians with interest and expertise in low-risk obstetrics are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications :

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Family Medicine and eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching and the ability to work well in a team setting.
