The minimum hourly rate for this position is $64,000 annually, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Asset Program Manager or Shop Supervisor, Department of Maintenance, Physical Plant, this position will be responsible for life cycle management of facilities asset data. The position will support the development, implementation, and quality assurance of preventive maintenance activities for those assets. The position will conduct condition assessments of facilities, facility systems, and equipment. The data is managed in an Integrated Work Management System (IWMS -currently AssetWorks).

Responsibilities: Provides engineering expertise in designing, modifying and constructing Institution facilities, including buildings and physical plant infrastructure to ensure the Institution is meeting regulatory and professional engineering standards.
  • 40% Assesses, designs, modifies, and constructs institution facilities utilizing engineering techniques and best practices
  • 10% Monitors, interprets, communicates, and applies all established building codes, policies, and procedures
  • 10% Liaises facility construction plans with internal and external stakeholders and vendors, and provides engineering guidance and recommendations to align with strategic facility planning
  • 20% Assists other work units in evaluating building mechanical system conditions, when requested
  • 20% Performs Asset Inventory and Asset Condition Assessments

Education:

Preferred
Certificate of Registration as a licensed Engineer as outlined by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services: https://dsps.wi.gov/Pages/Professions/Default.aspx

Qualifications:

Two years facilities maintenance or related work management systems experience, related to but not limited to asset condition assessment, asset data collection, data management, and preventative maintenance. Proficiency in a wide range of software programs and data bases including Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel or related integrated work management systems.

Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in a wide range of software programs and databases including the Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel or spreadsheet software.
- Assist in the location, survey, condition evaluation, and identification of new and existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing assets and systems.
- Knowledge of typical facility, equipment, or services; proper work maintenance procedures to achieve goals of greater economy and efficiency; the causes of deterioration and/or impending failure of equipment and components; and the tests and procedures that can verify any deteriorating conditions.
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance activities and the ability to Review plans, specifications, etc. to identify assets for inclusion in the preventive maintenance program.
- Knowledge of condition-based maintenance management.
