Executive Director- Research Compliance - (STA012635)



Directs the development, implementation, management, and administration of research compliance activities for the protection of human subjects Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines applicable to Research.

  1. Directs activities related to the rights and welfare of human subjects, including oversight, administration and management of an Institutional Review Board (IRB) business.
  2. Oversees the administration and management of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), including direction of federally required semi-annual program review and facility inspections.
  3. Manages the activities related to the Responsible Conduct of research, including review of research team adherence to RCR plans and oversight of research of misconduct.
  4. Oversees activities related to the review and management of investigator conflicts of interest (COI) as related to funded research, including oversight of the COI committee.
  5. Directs IRB, IACUC, COI, RCR and grant congruency staff, evaluates staff performance regularly and determines merit, promotions and disciplinary actions.
  6. Oversees the conduct of all compliance investigations in all areas, including committee reviews with required reports to federal agencies for submissions by the Institutional Official (IO) in each area.
  7. Reviews research grants, contracts, material transfer agreements, and data use agreements for congruency with approved research protocols.
  8. Maintain and update all assurance with the federal government in the above arears, and ensure routinely reporting under the assurances.
  9. Coordinates internal post-approval compliance monitoring activities for actively approved research.Performs other job duties as required.

Qualifications :

Education
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
