EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
Santa Rosa Junior College is currently accepting applications to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. Associate assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed. This job posting is not for a specific assignment or for a contract faculty position, but rather for a pool of candidates who may be considered for part-time teaching or allied faculty assignments. Allied faculty include counselors, librarians, work experience faculty and other assignments.

Essential Functions
Candidates who are recommended for the pool after committee interviews will be added to the pool for disciplines interviewed and deemed qualified for (screening/interviewing committees will confirm disciplines that candidates are qualified for).
Applications are accepted for associate faculty pools on a continuous basis. If the department has an immediate need to add candidates to their pool, they will review applications. If the department does not have an immediate need to add candidates to their pool, applications remain in the queue for consideration until the need arises, or for up to one year. If selected for interview, candidates will be invited to interview with a Screening and Interviewing Committee. The Committee may include representatives consisting of Faculty, Administrators, and Classified Professionals. Students may also participate in the committee selection process as determined by the Screening and Interviewing Committee. For candidates who are recommended for the pool, references will be checked at any point beyond the committee interview. If selected for the pool, candidates remain in the pool for four years.
Santa Rosa Junior College does not reimburse candidates for expenses related to associate faculty interviews. Requests for remote interviews or other accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Art Department is the fifth largest department at Santa Rosa Junior College, with Seven full-time and numerous associate faculty teaching on two campuses and several off-campus locations. Facilities include an art history lecture room and visual resources library, studios for painting, drawing, graphic design, printmaking, photography, ceramics and sculpture. Our primary intention is to foster and develop the creative thinking, visual literacy and problem solving skills considered necessary for students to function effectively in the future, whatever their discipline.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's in fine arts, art, or art history
OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in humanities
OR the equivalent; OR a fully satisfied (Life) California Community College Instructor's Credential in Fine and Applied Arts and Related Technologies or in Art & Design, including Photography to qualify for Photography courses only.
"Master's in Fine Arts" as used here refers to any Master's degree in the subject matter of fine arts, which is defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and metal and jewelry art; and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the "Master of Fine Arts" (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video, creative writing, or other non-plastic arts.
Additional Requirements:
MFA in Sculpture or MA with 18-21 graduate studio units of sculpture and/or at least two years recent (within last 5 years) successful college level teaching experience in 3-D Design and/or Sculpture. Instructor must submit a portfolio of personal and student work in 3-D design and/or Sculpture, and a syllabus which follows the Title V Course Outline of Record. Instructor's portfolio of work must demonstrate expertise in the specific subject matter addressed in each respective course based on its current Course Outline of Record to be considered to teach that course.
A sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
