Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics & Natural Sciences of the UW-Milwaukee College of General Studies invites applications for a non-tenure track Teaching Academic Staff in Mathematics for Fall 2023. This is a fixed-term position primarily in the First Year Bridge and Pre-Engineering Program at the Milwaukee campus with the possibility of renewal contingent on enrollments. Teach introductory level courses; hold appropriate office hours; attend orientation activities; and perform required grading, assessment, and reporting tasks. Anticipated staffing is needed for the following courses:
CGS MAT 75 CGS MAT 98 CGS MAT 103 CGS MAT 105 CGS MAT 108 CGS MAT 124

Contract starts August 21, 2023. Fall classes begin September 5, 2023. New staff orientation is scheduled within the contract period.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related discipline, or a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education with at least 18 credits hours of successful graduate course work in the discipline (or a closely related field)
- Successful teaching experience at the university level
Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree in Mathematics or a related discipline
- Successful teaching experience in developmental math courses with diverse student populations.
- Evidence of use of successful student-centered teaching strategies.
