About the Position:

The purpose of the Division of Student Affairs is to transform the lives of our students academically, personally and professionally, equipping all with the knowledge and skills required for success at Cal State Fullerton and beyond degree completion. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Committee Oversight Administrative Analyst /Specialist - Exempt I. Under the general direction of the Chief of Operations within the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) Office, the Committee Oversight Administrative Analyst /Specialist - Exempt I independently represents the VPSA Office and is responsible for three critical functions within the division and university, including the Instructionally Related Activity (IRA) Committee and funded programs, the Academic Appeals Board, and VPSA scholarship administration and disbursement. IRA involves activities and experiences that are partially sponsored by an academic discipline or department and which are integrally related to the function of instructional offering. These programs are funded by a CSU student fee and managed by a university-wide committee. Acts as the lead resource for this committee and is responsible for overseeing IRA Committee functions and meetings, IRA applications, and providing customer service to faculty and university administration while serving as a clearinghouse for questions regarding IRA processes and support. Oversees the process of the Academic Appeals Board, which reviews and makes decisions on grade appeals submitted by currently enrolled students at CSUF. Oversees the intake of new appeals, organization of appeal files, communications with respective parties, and board meetings on a monthly basis. Oversees any scholarships administered by the VPSA Office, including the management of applications, selection committees, and communications with student awardees. Works closely with staff, faculty, and students across the campus community, providing excellent customer service and clear communications regarding applicable instructions, deadlines, and policies across all functions. Uses considerable judgment and discretion in addressing problems and interprets and applies relevant policies across all functions. Accountable for the planning, development, and implementation of any new or revised policies across all functions. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with management of committee work, executing set tasks and goals, and general administration.
