The Assistant Dean of Accreditation, Innovation, and Student
Success is the administrative leader and champion for assessment,
evaluation, curricular innovation, and student success within the
School of Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology. The
Assistant Dean reports to the Dean of the School of Engineering
while working with other team members to ensure programmatic
quality in developing modern engineers.
The Assistant Dean will use a data-informed and data-inspired
approach to manage data assets for accreditation and student
success for the School of Engineering. They will coordinate and
implement assessment policies, procedures, and practices for the
School and will collaborate with campus partners to train faculty
and staff on best practices for assessing and evaluating student
learning.

Minimum Education Required
Doctoral degree
Minimum Work Experience Required
5 years in a higher education setting
Minimum Knowledge Required
Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications
-Earned doctorate in engineering education, engineering, or
related field
-A rank of associate professor or higher
-Knowledge of continuous improvement process
for ABET accreditation of engineering programs, including
assessment and evaluation of student outcomes
-Knowledge of assessment and evaluation of course-level
outcomes
-Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar programs

-Perform qualitative and quantitative (mixed methodology)
research
-Demonstrated success leading and motivating individuals and/or
teams
-Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing contexts and adapt to
evolving situations
-History of success in addressing the needs of various stakeholders
in a consistent and timely manner
-Demonstrated ability to use innovative solutions to solve
institution-specific problems
-Effective interpersonal communication skills
-Ability to lead with a team-building mindset
-Experience collaborating, communicating, and facilitating in
complex environments
-Knowledge of Python (or similar languages) with the ability to
write computer programs to aggregate and manipulate data from
various sources
-Knowledge of the latest pedagogical advances in engineering
education
-Knowledge of the latest strategies for student success and
retention
-Knowledge of statistics and data visualization
