Assistant Athletic Director



The Department of Athletics at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Assistant Athletic Director . This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day affairs of the Ticket Office in the Athletic Department which includes but is not limited to the following functions: operations, hiring and training of staff, revenue accountability, the preparation of regular reports (summary data, daily sales, etc.) and reconciliations for all events. This position will also be responsible for the ticket prospecting and selling functions to ensure sound follow-through on new leads and excellent customer service.

Duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Athletic Director include:
  • Oversee the maintenance and establishment of an environment focused on quality customer service and maximized ticket sales through season ticket packages, individual game day sales and group outings.
  • Hires and supervises all Ticket Office staff including Customer Services Specialist (Group and Ticket Sales), graduate assistants, and a part-time sales staff which in includes proper training and communication to ensure that Ticket Office staff follows all policies and procedures.
  • Represent the department at weekly management meetings and other meetings as necessary.
  • Assist with the Marketing and Promotional campaigns for the ticket sales.
  • Identifies and handles problems, complaints, and inquiries from new and existing ticket holders.
  • Create Athletic Department ticketing databases and spreadsheet as well as maintain an organized profile of all clients and prospects.
  • Organize mailing to season ticket holders including event invitations, ticket packages, invoices, and other messages from the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate AD for External Affairs.
Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree and two years of related experience (or a combination of education and experience).
