The Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applicants for a Program Assistant position (Part-Time). This position directly assists the Director by supporting CSCLE events; designing and implementing community training; tracking student faculty and partner involvement in service learning and volunteering; supporting on-campus and off-campus meetings as assigned; and maintaining the UIndy channel and website.

Responsibilities- Program Assistant
  • Plans CSLCE events by reserving rooms, communicating information to internal and external stakeholders, and ‘hosting’ during the events, which include:
    • Community Partners Fair
    • Service Expo Events
    • Summer camps (TeenWorks, BACI)
  • Designs and implements community trainings and workshops that educate about service-learning partnerships, critical service-learning experiences, and facilitates formal faculty trainings in collaboration with Faculty Development and Indiana Campus Compact.
  • Tracks student, faculty and partner involvement in Service-Learning and volunteering through the use of an online database, faculty surveys and other programmatic assessment tools.
  • Provides support to students in service-learning project coordination, and make on-campus presentations about community engagement
  • Supports the Director with external events and meetings as assigned
  • Support the Service Learning Council and Service-Learning Cohort by working with the Director to coordinate meetings, develop agendas, and take and post minutes
  • Maintains the Service Learning channel and website on MyUIndy, as well as all social media channels
  • Supervises student worker
  • Assist with other projects as assigned
  • Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
