The Office of Academic Assistance is seeking (1) Administrative Specialist, Academic to join the already awesome team taking the School of Public Health to the next level of excellence!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The School of Public Health - Office of Academic Assistance is seeking an Administrative Specialist, Academic (Graduate Advisor) to be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

· Advise and counsel current and prospective students in academic policies and curriculum requirements and provide support to faculty mentors.

· Oversee the Thesis, Capstone, and Integrative Learning Experience process including advising students and faculty on guidelines, tracking proposals and committees, and approving final submissions.

· Announce dissertation, thesis, and capstone defenses for graduate students.

· Liaison with the Graduation Office for degree audits.

· Support department chairs and faculty in resolving student and academic policies.

· Manage curriculum petitions and changes to programs of studies, in concert with Department Chairs and Coordinators.

· Work with College Scheduler, Department Chairs, and Department Coordinators to help coordinate the courses offered.

· Support opportunities for students to interact with faculty.

· Serve on the administrative team responsible for new student orientation, open houses, convocation/commencement, and career planning events.

· Assist with annual catalog updates.

· Provide accreditation data to the Assistant Dean of Academic Programs.

· Serve on the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs Committees.

· Other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications - External

Bachelor's degree and four years administrative experience; or a high school diploma or GED and eight years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
