Position Purpose
The Scientific Research and Communications Writer will join a dynamic, collaborative team in a Center of Excellence (Center for Technology and Behavioral Health – CTBH ) funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse focused on cutting edge research related to digital therapeutic tools for behavioral health conditions. This position will have responsibility for activities associated with coordinating, researching, writing, editing, and maintaining the production of scientifically accurate and impactful written content of the CTBH website, including up-to-date empirical literature related to digital therapeutic tools. This position will also support research activities of the Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Core of the CTBH in collaboration with the Core Directors. The Scientific Research and Communications Writer may be asked to assist with other CTBH research and dissemination activities, as needed. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in social behavioral research and methods, and clear foundational knowledge of scientific writing for broad audiences. These skills and experience will be used to promote the CTBH website features, as well as other scientific activities conducted within the D&I Core of the Center.

Masters plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Master’s (MA, MS, MPH, MSW )
Five years of experience in scientific communication, health care, social service and/or field research.
Strong organizational and analytic skills
Ability to take initiative and operate independently with minimal direction.
Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong scientific writing skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management including complex project design and ability to plan and manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
Understanding of research methodology and experience conducting systematic research literature searches.
Familiarity and experience with the requirements of data management.
Facility with social media technologies.
Experience using computer-based tools (MS Office, Powerpoint, Excel, Adobe applications, webpage design tools, etc.).
Ability to use graphics and publishing programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Facility with online survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, REDCAP ).
Experience with statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS ).
Foundational skills for the application of health services and/or implementation science research.
