The University of Kentucky, through the Vice President for Research, the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, and the Dean of the College of Medicine, seeks a collaborative, innovative clinician investigator to serve as the Director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), funded under a CTSA (Clinical Translational Science Award) from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). This position is critical to the ongoing research success at UK, which has had striking growth in biomedical research over the last 5 years.

Established in 2006 as UK's integrated home for clinical and translational research, the CCTS promotes high-quality collaborative research networks locally, regionally, and nationally, leading to discoveries at each phase of the translational research continuum. The CCTS benefits from a unique multidisciplinary environment including a full complement of medical, health science, liberal arts, engineering, creative arts, professional and agricultural colleges on a single campus.

The successful candidate for this tenured appointment will be an MD/DO, PhD or MD/PhD with demonstrated leadership in academic medicine; an inclusive vision for the health research needs of the future; team-oriented approach to leadership and management; successful experience overseeing direct reports and financial management.
