Hampton University - University College invites nominations and applications for Director of Hampton University Online. The anticipated start date is October 15, 2022 or until filled.

Founded in 1868, Hampton University is a leading historically black university (HBCU) located on the Virginia Peninsula in the City of Hampton. It is a privately endowed, co-educational, nonsectarian institution.

Hampton University Online offers access to high quality, asynchronous degreed programs spanning from certificate credentialing to Doctoral degrees. The Doctoral program includes areas of specialization in Business Administration, Counselor Education and Supervision, Education Management, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing. The Master’s program includes areas of specialization in Counseling, Cybersecurity, Theological/Worship Studies, and Pastoral Leadership and Executive Ministry. Hampton University Online also offers an Educational Specialist degree with a specialization in Education in Counseling. The Bachelor’s degree program includes areas of specialization in General Studies, Paralegal Studies, Aviation Management, and Business Management. The Associate degree program includes areas of specialization in Biblical Studies, Business Management, Church Administration, General Studies, and Religious Studies. The certificate programs available include Human Resource Management and Paralegal Studies.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Director, the successful candidate will be expected to lead and manage the distance learning programs; review curriculum and content for quality and alignment to curriculum development principles and federal, state, and institutional standards during quality review cycles, and provides reports for accreditation purposes.

Reporting to the Dean, the Director evaluates online course development and instruction; .designs, develops, and delivers workshops and online training to online faculty through the use of instructional technologies, educational best practices, instructional resources, and multimedia hardware/software to support instruction; remains current with system and national developments in online education.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a Doctoral degree and a record of demonstrated proficiency with a Learning Management System; extensive experience developing and supporting online programs in higher education; and a commitment to excellence in student learning and the ongoing pursuit of innovative and effective educational strategies that continually strengthen student success.

Candidates must have organizational bridge-building skills, including the ability to build partnerships within and outside of the university and an unwavering commitment to the University’s mission and a collaborative orientation appropriate to the shared work of continually strengthening the University experience and brand.
