Minimum Qualifications
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience or Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities of this position. Educational background in public health, health education, higher education, social work, or another related field. Experience could include internships, graduate assistantships, volunteer or paid experience. Please specify dates and total hours of related experience if listing volunteer experience..
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in college or university health promotion including experience managing a comprehensive wellness program. Experience collaborating with diverse and specialized staff. Preference given to those with experience working with peer educators.
License/Certification Required
Preferred Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S.) credentials or obtainable in one year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide primary prevention programming, including campus-wide educational initiatives for learning outside the classroom.
2. Provide resources for students seeking advice regarding health or wellness related issues.
3. Work collaboratively with campus and community partners to assess needs and develop appropriate services and outreach programs.
4. Evaluate pertinent educational materials and design appropriate marketing materials.
5. Develop, implement, facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate services and programs with a focus on program effectiveness.
6. Utilize ACHA’s “ Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education ” and other guiding documents.
7. Recruit, train, and supervise We Coach, Advocate, Refer, and Educate (WeCARE) peer educators.
8. Assist with campus-wide health and wellness assessments.

$48,000-$50,000
