Department Summary
University Advancement (UA) supports the University of Oregon's (UO) mission of providing exceptional teaching, discovery, and service by strategically positioning the university to create awareness, build long-term relationships, and secure resources that increase understanding and further its aims. The division consists of approximately 200 employees primarily working out of Eugene, with offices in Portland and Bend. We are committed to fostering equity and inclusion in a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment that recognizes the value of all members of our community.
The Advancement Strategies and Technology Innovation (ASTI) department is focused on finding the solutions for foundational issues that will best position University Advancement (UA) to achieve its goals around engagement and fundraising. The department has a unique function in that it is based in UA, but also has a strong working partnership and provides strategic direction to the University of Oregon Foundation (UOF) and UO Information Services staff.
As part of Advancement Strategies, Technology, and Innovation (ASTI), the Office of Donor Relations and Outreach manages donor relations, special events, volunteer coordination, gift administration, and constituent communication. It is responsible for the design and implementation of a program of donor recognition and communication for donors and constituents DRO works cooperatively with the UO President and administrators, school, and college fundraising staff, and across Advancement to provide a university-wide stewardship and cultivation program that moves prospects and donors through engagement and solicitation readiness.
Position Summary
Come work at the University of Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Eugene, Oregon! Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade mountain range, Eugene is an outdoor haven, known as TrackTown, USA, and is located about two hours south of Portland. As the Associate Director for Donor Recognition and Reporting (associate director), you will have the opportunity to work on a collaborative team whose purpose is to ensure University of Oregon(UO) donors feel connected to the university through personalized communication that builds trusting relationships, inspires generosity, and demonstrates responsible stewardship of their gifts.
Your primary responsibility will be implementing and managing a stewardship program for donors to centrally steward scholarships, named faculty positions, select donor-inspired funds, and provost priority funds. You will be able to collaborate with fellow Donor Recognition and Reporting (DRR) and Advancement colleagues and other university partners to build reporting and recognition programs for many donors, such as individual and broad-based impact reports and donor and beneficiary events. Your organization, adaptability, communication, and independence skills will be an asset to this team as we gather and analyze data to improve our practices and recognition programs for our donors.
Since this position involves working directly with donors, you will occasionally need to be available to work evenings and weekends. You will also need to be able to work in person on the Eugene campus the majority of the time, with some flexibility for remote work.
