Job Summary: SUNY Brockport invites applications for an Instructional Support Technician position in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to begin June 1, 2023. The Instructional Support Technician will support the delivery of the department's laboratory curriculum by preparing laboratory experiments of the introductory-level courses well as organic chemistry courses and maintaining departmental laboratory instruments, equipment and supplies. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or closely related field from a
regionally accredited college or university.
- Relevant laboratory and instrumentation experiences (could
include undergraduate research experiences, internship experiences,
or job experiences).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with people of
varying races, genders, disabilities, origins and other cultural
differences.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree in chemistry or closely related
field.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with faculty, staff, and
students.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication
skills.
- Trained in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) or
similar safety and waste training.
Work Schedule: 9am - 5pm
Salary and Benefits: Minimum Salary is $52,000. May be benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
