Job Summary/Basic Functions

The EKU Department of Physics, Geosciences & Astronomy seeks a full-time One-Year Visiting Lecturer to teach Algebra and Trigonometry-based introductory college Physics classes at the Richmond EKU campus. Workload will be 15 credit hours instruction, each for the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. Masters degree is required in Physics or closely related discipline from a regionally (SACS, Middle States, North Central, etc.) accredited and recognized institution. Experience with inquiry-based teaching desired.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Masters degree is required in Physics or closely related discipline from a regionally (SACS, Middle States, North Central, etc.) accredited and recognized institution.

Experience: One year

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree is required in Physics or closely related discipline from a regionally (SACS, Middle States, North Central, etc.) accredited and recognized institution. Experience with inquiry-based teaching desired.

Job Duties:

• 50%% - Teach and supervise students using lectures, demonstrations, discussion, and laboratory workshop sessions - (Essential)
• 25%% - Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and course outlines. - (Essential)
• 25%% - Assess students' progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work - (Essential)
