Job Summary

The ECE Department is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach classes in the area of Power Systems, including analysis, modeling, and control of such systems. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, with outstanding academic and/or industrial credentials. The lectures are taught in a face-to-face setting, and so the successful candidate must be available to teach on campus. Classes are held during the day.

Essential Functions
  • Possess expert knowledge of y-bus based analysis of power systems including steady-state power-flow models and algorithms, economic dispatch of power generation, load-frequency control, and transient stability analysis.
  • Possess practical knowledge how power flow simulation, economic dispatch and transient stability are used in today’s power system operations and planning.
  • Create, administer, and grade homework assignments, quizzes, and exams.
  • Create laboratory assignments and supervise teaching assistants assigned to the laboratory.
Required Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems and Engineering.
