UW Bothell has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Director of Technology and Communications. This position primarily serves as the system administrator responsible for the overall administration, communication and support of the institutional instance of Technolutions Slate CRM and associated business systems. The associate director is a strategic leadership partner responsible for the continued evolution of the Slate instance across campus. This position will exercise strategic leadership in, and management of, the University’s recruitment and communication with prospective students. Additionally, this position is responsible for processing, analyzing, and preparing data for output, and conducting analysis of admissions data processes for use in the development of enrollment forecasting, projections and communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Systems and Technologies
- Function as a strategic leader in the continued leveraging of
the Slate CRM platform and other technologies to expand and
streamline admissions digital communications abilities.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration and management of the
Slate CRM platform including the maintenance and continuous
improvement of Slate functionality
- Oversee the integration of admission data in Slate CRM and
other enterprise systems in collaboration with partners across
campus(es)
- Create and maintain documentation of processes and system
updates
- Develop and lead a Slate Team to support all campus-wide
enrollment processes managed by Slate
- Perform system configuration, maintenance, enhancement, and
quality control processes for all online applications, from
submission through decision release.
- Provide support of Slate’s functionality in the areas of
applications, event management, queries, form development, document
management, communications, workflow maintenance, data
uploads.
- Identify, collaborate, and incorporate new Slate CRM
functionality and enhancements; to include timelines, testing,
documentation, and execution of a training plan.
- Provide end user training and support, to include managing user
accounts, profiles, permissions, and onboarding new users.
Data and Analytics
- Oversee accuracy and integrity of data in enrollment systems
through assessment and quality control reviews and
audits
- Create, edit, and maintain queries and reports that assist
enrollment staff and campus partners in making data-informed
decisions
- Develop and conduct regular and routine training for enrollment
services staff and staff in Schools
- Interpret prospective student admissions data and conduct
analysis using statistical techniques and provides ongoing reports
to key stakeholders
- Lead and conduct advanced analytics to deliver insights on
complex data sets
- Develop analytical solutions to achieve business objectives to
optimize admissions decisions and other business operations
Communications
- Strategically and collaboratively develop, implement, and
maintain the University undergraduate recruitment and communication
strategy and plans for target audiences including undergraduate
students and influencers such as, parents, high school counselors,
etc.
- Lead and supervise a recruitment and communications team within
the Office of Admissions--in partnership with the Marketing and
Communications--in the strategic recruitment of prospective
undergraduate students, including Washington residents, U.S.
nonresidents, and international students.
- Develop strategic relationships with academic and other units
across campus to partner with them in the development of
recruitment communications, programs, and events.
- Partner closely with University Marketing and Communications to
plan and implement communication initiatives using a wide array of
web-based, print, electronic and social media platforms;
prioritizing, planning, and directing undergraduate recruitment and
yield-related activities, whether on or off campus.
- Use data analysis, and related technology in the recruitment
and associated communications work of the University.
Budget and Supervision
- Responsible for the overall human resources and budget strategy
in the area of supervision and responsibility (admissions
technology and communication with prospective and admitted
students).
- Develop recommendations for new technology purchases including
system design, configuration, implementation plans, and
budgets
- Manage contracts with third party vendors who provide
technology solutions in communication with prospective and admitted
students (RNL, ZeeMee)
Successfully lead staff through change and growth - Utilize appropriate data and reports to manage workloads and
evaluate performance of staff
- Create and support professional development opportunities for
staff.
Other Duties
- Remain active in the Slate community including attending the
annual Slate Summit, webinars and other professional development
opportunities
- Serve on campus-wide committees including, but not limited to,
data governance, strategic enrollment management, and
cross-functional project teams
- Participate in the leadership team for the Office of
Admissions
- Attend and participate in campus-wide events, as needed, such
as Convocation, Move-In Day, etc
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Admissions, Dean for
Enrollment Services or Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management
and Student Affairs
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Data
Analytics, Business, Statistics, Education, Communication or a
related field.
- At least 4 years of experience working with CRM or functional
technological systems, data analytics, business process
improvement, or enrollment management
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
tasks, use multiple systems, and effectively transition between
tasks
- Ability to derive insight from large amounts of data from
diverse sources
- Ability to learn new software systems and
applications
- Ability to perform detailed work and to apply strategic vision
in the creation of new, more efficient business
processes
- Proven experience developing and implementing successful
admission and/or enrollment management recruitment and
communication strategies, or equivalent
- Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to see how
those details fit into the big picture
- A proven ability to build trust and work well with all levels
of management and technical staff
- Excellent communication and management skills to direct and
lead a diverse and talented staff; including student staff
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience as a CRM administrator, specifically Technolutions
Slate
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Python or R, Tableau, SQL and relational
databases for writing queries for extracting information out of
databases.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Standard business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. While university operations are primarily in-person, hybrid work schedules are available for this position.
