Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Experience in creating and executing marketing strategies, content creation, and digital engagement in various mediums including websites, emails, social, test, direct mail, print, and advertisements.
  • Experience in graphic design with Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, or InDesign.
  • Experience working in project management software applications such as Wrike, Trello, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, or related field.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years’ experience in marketing or similar field.
  • Experience using and leveraging analytics and market research.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events on a university campus.
  • Master’s degree in student affairs, communications, marketing, or related field.
Job Description

The Coordinator for Marketing and Communications serves as the primary communications member for the Department of Student Involvement. The coordinator will develop communication strategies, marketing plans and platforms, and develop and implement various engagement and outreach strategies for the department. The coordinator is responsible for marketing, social media, and communications for the department. Position reports to the Director for Student Involvement.

Job Duties

Departmental Responsibilities
  • Develop marketing and communications strategic plan to increase awareness and student engagement.
  • Develop and implement social media engagement strategies for the department.
  • Develop marketing material, flyers, and social media graphics for the department in coordination with university’s branding guidelines.
  • Create and utilize photography, video, and dynamic digital storytelling to continually enhance department’s communications channels.
  • Manage department website, event calendars, and social media platforms.
  • Develop key performance indicators, track, and monitor progress of engagement strategies, and implement changes, as needed.
  • Coordinate the design, purchase, and dissemination of branded promotional material.
  • Direct, uphold, and educate staff to ensure compliance to University branding standards.
  • Provide support to departmental events and initiatives.

Responsible for expressive activity and demonstrations support
  • Support, respond, and enforce free speech, expressive activity, and assembly related to Texas Senate Bill 18 and federal law.
  • Serve as a member of the expressive activity team addressing elevated expressive activity on campus.

Support all departmental responsibilities
  • Actively participate in departmental programs and projects designed to support the mission and goals of the university, division, and department.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Division of Student Success.
  • Serve on committees and task forces, as assigned.
  • Other duties as requested or required to support Student Success.
