The John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (WVU, located in Morgantown, WV) invites applications for the position of Service Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship starting in August 2023. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track, full-time faculty member position shared between the Management Department and the Vantage Ventures of WVU. The position is renewable annually for up to two years. Subsequent renewal will depend on the budget situation at WVU and the performance of the employee. The starting date will be August 11, 2023.

The workload will be 40% teaching and would include teaching four courses (three credit hours each) in entrepreneurship (or a related area) each year. These courses could be across undergraduate and graduate programs (face-to-face, online, or hybrid) and might involve new course development. The remaining 60% of the workload will be dedicated to service activities for the Vantage Ventures. Some of these service activities would include connecting the student projects with the activities of the Vantage Ventures and working with entrepreneurs in residence at the Vantage Ventures. Other service activities may be assigned consistent with the mission of the Vantage Ventures, as outlined on the following website.

Qualifications :

Qualified candidates must hold a graduate degree in business or related fields such as entrepreneurship, economics, and other disciplines that involve significant coursework relevant for entrepreneurship. The minimum requirement is a master’s degree though a doctoral/terminal degree is preferred. There is a preference for candidates with entrepreneurial and/or other types of business experience. West Virginia University (and The John Chambers College of Business and Economics) is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their teaching and/or service, to the excellence of the academic community.
