Post-Doctoral Fellow

Carnegie Mellon University, in the Software and Societal Systems Department, in the School of Computer Science is looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to lead a team of undergraduate, masters, and possibly Ph.D students to work on 2-4 Artificial Intelligence for Social Good (AI4SG) projects, centered arouind topics including AI for environmental conservation, AI for food security, AI for security and privacy, and AI for mental health. Specifically, we expect the Post-Doc to meet with students and our collaborators and partners from other organizations regularly, and advise the students to devlop AI/NLP-based tools that can help tackle various social challenges. We also expect the Post-Doc to start new research projects related to AI4SG (broadly defined) and participate in proposal writing if there is an opportunity.

Qualifications

Must have experise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and is passionate about working on Artificial Intelligence for Social Good (AI4SG) projects that requires the use of NLP techniques.

Must have a Ph.D in Computer Science or related field and preferably have their thesis topic to be in NLP.
