The Opportunity:

The Executive Director of Worldwide Academic Advising executes supervision, direction, and the development of the Worldwide Campus advisement teams. This crucial role is r esponsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring Directors and approximately 80 advising staff. The Executive Director works cooperatively with constituents from other departments and represents the Worldwide Advising Department as a leader. This position provides reports on enrollments, accomplishments, recognitions, concerns, and outreach efforts. The Executive Director is accountable for obtaining departmental targets in new students, continuing students, graduations, and registrations for Worldwide Campus students.

Utilizing data, this role helps provide advice on all institutional aid initiatives and implementation of strategic and tactical plans. Directly responsible for over 25,000 Worldwide students, this position has decision making authority for all student issues and has authority to make recommendations for late drops, late withdrawals, and all waivers including course overloads and grade appeals. Maintaining working relationships and frequent communications with College Deans, Department Chairs, Program Coordinators and other designated faculty is important to ensure accurate academic advisement and support retention efforts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-10 years of work related experience with at least 4 years in a supervisory role
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Effective leadership skills and proven ability to direct and motivate a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with various constituents
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and independent decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Experience in higher education
  • General knowledge of accepted practices at other academic institutions; understanding of and ability to enforce academic policies and procedures, standards and curricula
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Education, Management, or counseling.
  • Prior experience working in online higher education.
  • Prior experience using Salesforce
