Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Family & Community Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the collaboration of practice physicians. This position will see Family Medicine patients for ongoing care of health conditions, preventative care, and acute care needs, practicing to the top of the licensure. This position will accumulate a panel of his/her own patients and follow them medically through the lifespan.

The position is comprised of the following duties: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and demonstrate high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems. Perform patient histories and physicals exams; orders/performs diagnostic procedures; monitors patient condition, lab values and results of diagnostic procedures, and develop treatment goals.
Collaborates with collaborative MD in difficult or complicated cases and as an agreed upon in collaborative agreement.
Act as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff and other health care professionals in area of expertise.

Salary

Nurse Practitioner (6432)

Salary Range: $78,520 - $127,962 annually

Grade: PAT - 011

Minimum Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner (6432)

Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

Preparation as a nurse practitioner in either a Master's program or a certificate program. Must be granted a “Document of Recognition” from the Missouri Board of Nursing.

Physician Assistant (6801)

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner (6432)

A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Preparation as a nurse practitioner in either a master’s program or a certificate program or its equivalent is required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of MO is required. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner is required within one year of hire.

Physician Assistant (6801)

Graduation from an AMA accredited physician assistant program, including national certification, as a physician assistant by the NCCPA is preferred.
Possession of a current Missouri license to practice as a licensed Physician Assistant is required.
