Context of job:An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Shannon Lennon in the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology at the University of Delaware. We are seeking a motivated individual who can contribute to a recently funded NIH study focused on the role of diet and vascular function. Salary will be commensurate with current NIH NRSA stipend levels. Major responsibilities:• writing grants and manuscripts, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting research at national meetings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• The fellow will frequently interact with graduate students, other investigators, and research staff including laboratory coordinators, laboratory technicians, and nurses. Qualifications:• Previous experience working with human volunteers in a Physiology research environment.
• Prior experience with ultrasound imaging, controlled feeding studies and biochemistry laboratory techniques would be preferred, however additional training will be provided as needed to ensure trainee success during the course of their fellowship.
• Individuals with a Ph.D. or equivalent in Physiology, Kinesiology, or relevant discipline and demonstrated research productivity are encouraged to apply.
