Job Summary:

The Division of Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Neuro Oncologist with an interest and expertise in neuro-oncology and neurocutaneous disorders. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

Faculty within the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant are active members in the UW Carbone Cancer Center, Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center, Program for Advanced Cell Therapy, and Wisconsin Blood Cancer Research Institute. Division members participate in numerous research consortia including the COG, PTCTC, PIDTC, MARCH, NEXT, POETIC, St. Baldrick's Empowering Pediatric Immunotherapies for Childhood Cancer Team, and the Pediatric Cancer Immunotherapy Trials Network. We encourage translation of laboratory research into clinical trials at the adjacent American Family Children's Hospital, and conduct many novel investigator-initiated studies as well as industry-sponsored studies.

Responsibilities:

* 60-70% Time spent in the clinical care of pediatric hematology, oncology and BMT patients, with a focus on neuro-oncology and neurocutaneous disorders. Opportunities to lead a late effects program are also available.
* 20-30% Time will be spent pursuing clinical research opportunities.
* 5-10% Time will be spent on teaching activities.

For appointments hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track:
* Provide clinical care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients with a focus on CNS malignancies and neurocutaneous disorders.
* Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups, and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.
* Carry out independent research/scholarly activity in an area of interest to the candidate and the division. These pursuits can take many forms and will often be executed in conjunction with clinical activities but are not limited to that venue.
* The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

For appointments hired on the Clinical-Teacher (CT) Track:
* Provide clinical care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients with a focus on CNS malignancies and neurocutaneous disorders.
* Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups, and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.

MD, DO, or equivalent is required.

Qualifications:

* Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program and pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship program is required.
* Experience caring for patients with CNS malignancies is preferred.
* Candidates must possess clinical and academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank at the CT or CHS Track that have been previously established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines.

License/Certification:

* Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics is required.
* Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin medical licensure.
* Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
