Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, this individual oversees the creation and support of campus living-learning communities and works closely with other university faculty and Housing and Residence Life staff members to provide curricular and cocurricular activities and events that enhance students’ educational and residential experience. This position offers a live-on option in a designated residence hall.
Oversees the creation and support of living-learning communities in residence halls and provides strategic direction and leadership for their growth.
Develops a core, residential learning curriculum by using and applying appropriate student development theory and setting program goals and outcomes.
Manages the living-learning communities’ application process while actively recruiting students to participate on an annual basis.
Provides support and training for residence hall staff to successfully implement and sustain residential living-learning communities.
Establishes strong relationships with academic units and other student support services on campus (i.e., FYE/SYE and Parent and Family Relations Coordinator, University College/Student Success, Golden Bull Academy).
Manages the designated living-learning hub and coordinates ideation and innovation planning sessions in the space.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with one to two years of experience in curriculum development and assessment, experience in Housing and Residence Life, Academic Support, Student Life or another unit area in Student Affairs. A master’s degree is preferred. Must possess strong analytical and communication skills, sound professional judgment, initiative and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals including students, faculty and staff. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms. Some knowledge of event planning, organizational management and student development theory is preferred. Must be creative, organized and able to multitask, with strong attention to detail and the management of his/her/the university’s time.
