The primary purpose of this 9-month tenure track position, at the
rank of assistant or associate professor, is to conduct
extramurally funded research and support graduate (M.S and PhD
levels) and undergraduate education and training in food animal
reproductive physiology.
The department offers a bachelor's degree in animal sciences, a bachelor's degree in
laboratory animal sciences, a master's degree in agriculture and environmental health
sciences, with a concentration in Integrative Animal Health Systems, and a newly
established PhD program in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, with a
concentration in Sustainable Animal Production and Health. Graduate training and
collaboration across other disciplines and majors is strongly encouraged.
The essential duties and responsibilities are to develop and maintain an extramurally
funded research program in an area that supports animal health and is in line with the
strategic initiatives and goals set forth by the Department of Animal Sciences, the
College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and University. The successful
candidate is also expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses related to
sustainable animal production, health, and the veterinary sciences., participate in
undergraduate and graduate academic advising, mentoring, and training, student
recruitment and retention activities.
Other service-related activities include service on departmental, college and university
committees as assigned, service to profession and community, outreach/extension
activities and any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the department chair.
