Facility and Events Coordinator

St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of facility and events coordinator. The Facility and Event Coordinator will assist the university in meeting the specified goals of the mission statement and the athletic department through professional management of the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all athletic facilities with emphasis on safety, functionality, and presentation. As a member of NCAA DII and the Lone Star Conference, St. Edward's supports 11 competitive NCAA DII programs and non-NCAA competitive Cheer and Esports program. The facility and event coordinator will operate such that the overall quality and integrity of the department aligns with the university's vision of excellence, while promoting a positive and productive working relationship with other staff members.
For consideration:
Baccalaureate degree required. Two or more years' experience in a collegiate athletics department, a community or campus recreation program or with a professional sports organization; experience as a collegiate student-athlete or professional internships in collegiate athletics apply. Must possess an unencumbered driver's license and the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Preferred qualification: Master's Degree in sport or facility management or related field.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
Supervision and management of all indoor and outdoor athletics facilities.
- Manage maintenance requests to ensure that all facilities are in optimal playing conditions for all SEU athletic practices, competitions, and external events.
- Create and implement preventative maintenance plans for facilities and major equipment.
- Evaluate existing building maintenance and system efficiencies/deficiencies and propose improvements as needed.
- Participate in an annual inventory of capital equipment and athletics facilities.
- Serve as point of contact for field maintenance vendor (RS3).
- Coordinate and schedule athletic facilities for both practice and competition of NCAA athletic teams, and external events, while communicating with RecWell and maintaining a master calendar.
Coordinate and supervise game day event management
- Train and supervise student staff to assist with game-day setup, game management, and breakdown for all home athletic events.
- Liaison with SEU Police Department for crowd control and parking needs.
- Create and distribute visiting team guides and/or pertinent game day information; coordinates practice time and walk-through requests with home and visiting teams.
- Manage ticketing and concessions.
- Serve as game administrator
- Manage the bid proposals for LSC and NCAA postseason events hosted by SEU. Direct and oversee game day operations for those events.
- Other duties as assigned.
