Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated indiviudal to work on a laboratory team in the Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at the UMKC School of Dentistry. The lab is focused on developmental, bone and craniofacial biology research. The position is at the level of Research Aide . The successful candidate must be able to work in a team setting and overall be neat and organized.
The duties will include, but are not limited to: performing routine experimental procedures using avian eggs (including setting, windowing, staging, injecting, surgeries, tool making, supporting a clean environment), keeping a thorough lab notebook, ordering supplies, scheduling lab meetings, helping to keep the lab benches clean and supplied, autoclaving, sectioning and paraffin embedding, making and changing solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Previous research lab experience in biological sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Full Time/Part Time
Part Time (approximately 10-20 hours per week), non-benefit eligible, unranked, non-tenture track, academic position.
Salary
Commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
