Location : Hickory, North Carolina
Lenoir-Rhyne University (Hickory, NC) a proud member of NCAA Division II and the South Atlantic Conference, seeks qualified candidates for its head women’s lacrosse coach vacancy. This position directs the development, organization and management of all phases of the women’s lacrosse program. Recruiting, retaining and graduating qualified student-athletes, as well as applying effective coaching, mentoring techniques and player development strategies that result in successful competition, is the primary purpose of this position.
Duties and tasks
- Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of the women’s lacrosse program in the planning, organizing and coaching of the team; ensure compliance with the university, conference and NCAA policies and regulations.
- Direct the women’s lacrosse staff and team in preparing analyses of opponent teams; analyze opponents' game statistics and technical data and prepare game plans accordingly.
- Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; consult with University administration and faculty to resolve problems required.
- Develop and supervise the women’s lacrosse coaching staff in recruiting new players; determine recipients of women’s lacrosse scholarships per University admissions policies and NCAA DII rules and conference policies.
- Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds.
- Direct various personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance evaluation, merit recommendations, mentoring and delegation of responsibilities.
- Study, evaluate and implement innovations in women’s lacrosse strategy and player development.
- Represent the Lenoir-Rhyne University athletic department in professional, civic and alumni events.
- Develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy for the women’s lacrosse program in coordination with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Operations to increase revenues and enhance the student-athlete experience.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein, as assigned by University administration, if mutually agreeable.
- Bachelors degree
- Collegiate-level coaching experience with a general understanding of NCAA DII rules with a preference for head coaching experience
- Demonstration of successful collegiate recruiting experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop a culture of excellence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
