Position Description Summary: The George Washington University School of Nursing seeks qualified applicants for two clinical assistant professor faculty positions to teach onsite in our undergraduate program, which is located on our Virginia Science and Technology Campus (VSTC) in Ashburn, Virginia. These full-time, 12-month specialized clinical faculty positions are scheduled to begin as early as July 1, 2023. Applicants from underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:  

  • Teaching didactic lectures, clinical courses, simulation, and labs as needed in the areas of med-surg, pharmacology, pathophysiology, leadership and/or health policy;
  • Mentoring prelicensure nursing students;
  • Providing clinical supervision;
  • Developing curriculum;
  • Participating in faculty governance including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Doctorate in nursing, education, public health or related field by date of appointment
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience teaching in an undergraduate prelicensure nursing program
  • Evidence of relevant medical/surgical clinical experience
  • Evidence of ability to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts through teaching, research/scholarship, and/or service
  • Eligibility for RN licensure in DC and VA
