Annual Giving Director
Job Description:
The Annual Giving Director, in collaboration with the Director of Development and other Advancement colleagues, is responsible for planning, execution, and management of a comprehensive program designed to increase unrestricted current use support for Champlain College and its institutional priorities and improve donor retention and loyalty. This individual will execute an integrated and collaborative plan to expand the College's donor base and increase the level of support through consistent and sustainable philanthropy with an eye toward strengthening our donor pipeline and elevating donors to the leadership/major gift level. Furthermore, this position will develop and implement a coordinated matrix of communication and solicitation strategies including direct response, email, phone, text, crowdfunding, social media, special giving campaigns (i.e.Giving Tuesday and Giving Day) personal visitation, and volunteer engagement, all focused on shaping a sustainable and growing tradition of annual, current-use support (i.e. The Champlain Fund). This position also manages a portfolio of Champlain Fund donors and represents Champlain College at events on and off campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and implement a comprehensive, year-long annual giving solicitation strategy, including direct mail, email, phone, text, crowdfunding, social media, personal visitation, and volunteer engagement
- Build a sustainable tradition of current use support with year-over-year increased current use/unrestricted dollars and improved donor retention
- Work with the Assistant Director of Alumni and Parent Relations to manage Senior Class Gift, campus crowdfunding efforts, and volunteer groups who assist with annual giving efforts
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Blackbaud Products (Raiser's Edge, RENXT, NetCommunity, Peer to Peer Fundraising) helpful but not required.
- Fundraising Experience required with experience in Higher Education preferred but not required.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
