CONTINUING EDUCATION LECTURER - PHOTOGRAPHY - PART TIME

Continuing Education non-credit courses are available for students seeking occupational skills or personal enrichment. If you have passion for teaching and learning, consider joining our team. This position will also allow you the opportunity to share content knowledge with an eager group of students committed to learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Instruct in one or more of the following areas:
  • B&W and digital photography-all formats - processing, printing, finishing and retouching
  • Design Fundamentals
  • Digital Imaging
  • Documentary Photography and Photojournalism
  • Editorial photography
  • Photographic lighting (all types), studio and location
  • Portrait photography
  • View Camera (theory and application)
  • Teach in accordance with departmental course outlines and design instructional activities that promote student learning, achievement, and retention.
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend class(es) at one or more campus locations as required.
  • Participate in departmental functions, such as staff meetings, committee work, faculty evaluations, curriculum development, revision, development and assessment of student learning outcomes and others as schedule permits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; or the equivalent OR; OR Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's assignment; OR the equivalent; OR Minimum of two years of practical, verifiable occupational experience in the field of photography.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
  • Mastery or technical skills and knowledge of aesthetics as demonstrated in portfolio presented.
  • Digital and film camera operation and technique: small, medium, and large format cameras.
  • Analogue and digital materials and processes, including finishing, processing, and presentation.
  • Photographic lighting-natural and artificial including tungsten & strobe (all types).
