Job Description

The Director for Workforce Integration & Career Advancement is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure that academic programs align with workforce demands and provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the workforce. The Director works collaboratively with academic departments, employers, and other stakeholders to identify workforce needs and develop programs and initiatives to address them. The Director reports to the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment and is a member of the Strategic Enrollment leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure that academic programs align with workforce demands and provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the workforce.
  • Collaborate with the workforce admissions team to identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities with external organizations; support employees in pursuing higher education by offering tuition reimbursement or assistance programs.
  • Work closely with HR and management teams to integrate educational benefits seamlessly into the overall employee compensation and benefits package.
  • Establish a workforce learning management portal to centralize educational resources, track employee progress, and provide a seamless learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with academic departments to identify workforce needs and develop programs and initiatives to address them.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, industry associations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to provide students with opportunities for career exploration, experiential learning, and employment.
  • Develop and implement training programs for faculty and staff on strategies for integrating workforce development opportunities into the student experience.
  • Collect and analyze data related to workforce integration programs, and use this information to inform program development and improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets for workforce integration programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between academic departments and employers, providing employers with information about academic programs and helping academic departments understand workforce needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure that students are prepared for successful careers, including resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search strategies.
  • Serve on committees and task forces related to workforce integration and retention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment.

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Some evening and weekend hours required.

Salary

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $56,864 to $104,897 (max)
Grade: GGS-11
University Title: Director Program/Project Operations

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred in Workforce Education, Higher Education, Counselor Education, or Organizational Leadership.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in higher education or workforce development, with a focus on workforce integration and career development.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead a team of professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators from across the institution, as well as external partners.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, employers, and industry associations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in workforce integration, including strategies for aligning academic programs with workforce demands and preparing students for successful careers.
