Job Summary
The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for a Canine Assistant position to perform general maintenance of dog equipment and provide transportation, logistics and routine care for animals.
This position is limited-term and continuation is subject to funding availability.

Essential Functions
Provides routine animal care such as daily feeding, watering, cleaning/sanitation of dog truck and trailers, monitoring health and safety of animals, and transportation of animals to proper location.
This position will be required to work some weekend & holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Level I - High school diploma or equivalent
Level II – High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 years of relevant experience.
Level III – High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of relevant experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
Basic animal training and husbandry/care skills.
The job may require frequent travel and possible extensive travel periods. Must have the ability to lift & carry up to 100 pounds and be willing to, work weekends and atypical hours and work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. at the time employment begins.
Minimum Technology Skills
Basic computer communications (i.e., e-mail) and data entry skills. Ability to tow a trailer.
Minimum License and Certifications
Valid Driver’s License

Desired Qualifications
Experience working in routine animal care of dogs, transportation of dogs to include loading and transporting in dog trucks &trailer. Experience in dog transfers from one facility to another.
