Job Summary

The Department of Biological Sciences is excited to begin the search for an Administrative Support Associate! This position will perform a mixture of administrative and clerical duties that are essential to the functionality of the department.

  • Mail Distribution
  • Answering the Department’s Main Phone Line
  • Purchasing/Ordering Supplies
  • Advising faculty, staff, and students of policies and procedures
  • Acting as a liaison to other departments, clients, and students on behalf of manager and department chair
  • Assisting with budget coordination, human resources administration (beyond payroll entry), recruitment coordination, preparation of reports/documents/presentations, or coordination of complex projects or events.
  • Scheduling classrooms
  • Entering course information into AU student scheduling system
  • Maintaining grades/registration
  • Conducting teaching effectiveness surveys
  • Facilitating departmental presentations
  • Assisting students with academic or financial issues
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Level I- High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services.

Level II- High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services.

Substitutions allowed for Experience:
Degrees accepted in lieu of experience requirement, at a rate of one year relevant education per year of required experience.

  • Must possess excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Must also be committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to multi-task.

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Experience with Banner
  • Experience in student registration
  • Familiarity with Auburn University policies and procedures are all desired.
