Position Purpose:
The Network Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also administer the university’s telecommunication system and provide user support for that system. This is a full-time, on-campus position.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- CCNA or CCNP is preferred.
- Two to three years of experience and proficiency with Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and Cisco hardware including switches and hardware.
- Experience supporting and deploying wireless networks.
- Understanding VoIP administration and applications such as RingCentral is preferred.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting L2 technologies including RSTP/MST, 802.1Q, 802.1X, inter-switch trunking, and LACP/Etherchannel.
- Firewall administration experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of traditional analog telephone lines is preferred.
- Familiarity with DMVPN, IPSEC/IKE, SSH, and PKI.
- Deep understanding of the TCP/IP model.
- Understanding protocols such as Qos, BGP, IPSEC, and VPN.
- Design complex IP internetworks based on technical specifications.
- Ability to accept divergent views while maintaining a constructive working relationship with other team members.
- Knowledge of change management process.
- Sound judgment and prioritization skills.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask several assignments or projects to successful resolution and/or completion.
- Ability to work independently and be dependable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Uses good judgment in what and how to communicate.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to transverse multi-leveled campus.
- Travel to alternate sites as needs demand.
