The Department of Educational Administration, Foundations and Research at Jackson State University is accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Education position.

Minimum Required Education

Must have a doctoral degree in Higher Education, Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Educational Foundations, or a related field with relevant higher education or PK-12 educational administrative experience.

Minimum Required Experience

  • Must have experience with university graduate-level teaching, advising, chairing dissertations, and serving on dissertation committees
  • Must have experience working with online learning, mentoring, and training or research activities
  • Must have experience with smart board/ Black Board/Canvas
  • Must have experience and/or familiarity with technology use, particularly in the online learning environment

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to teach and mentor students across programs and from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • Must be able to engage in constructive problem-solving and to make sound decisions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty and staff within the college, university, and diverse campus and community/education constituencies

Qualifications

  • Must have demonstrated ability to serve as a quantitative research methodologist on dissertation committees and instruct graduate students in research and statistics.
  • Must have knowledge of policy development

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing and participating in the development of course protocols
  • Teaching, advising, and mentoring students through the program
  • Serving as a methodologist for large-scale research grants
  • Conducting appropriate assessments within the programs’ course structures
  • Designing and overseeing research projects to advance high-Ieverage practices in educational leadership
